YOUR DATA / YOUR CHOICES

Privacy

What this website collects, why, and how long it keeps it. Notice version 2026-10-12.

What this notice covers

This notice covers the VRIOSCU website at https://vrioscu.com. It doesn't cover the VRIOSCU Windows application. Validation runs, screenshots, network information and reports created by the desktop application aren't sent to this website.

Account information

If you create an account, we store:

  • Your username and email address, required to sign in and to contact you about your account
  • Your password, stored only as a one-way salted hash. We can't see or recover it.
  • Optionally, your first name, last name, country and main use, to understand who uses VRIOSCU
  • When your account was created and when you last signed in
  • A record that you acknowledged this privacy notice, and which version

We use this information to provide your account. It's needed for the account to work and isn't used for anything else.

Product updates (optional)

You can choose to receive emails about new VRIOSCU releases. This is off unless you turn it on, it's separate from your account, and you can turn it off at any time in your account settings. We keep a dated record of each time you change this choice.

Feedback and support messages

If you send feedback or contact support, we store what you send: your message, the topic or category you chose, and, for support, the name and email you gave so we can reply. Please don't include passwords or other secrets.

Sign-in sessions and security

When you sign in, the website sets a cookie containing a random session identifier. We store a hash of that identifier, its creation time, last activity and expiry. Sessions end when you sign out, after a period of inactivity, or after a fixed maximum time.

To protect forms from abuse, the website sets a short-lived security cookie and counts recent requests. Those counters are keyed by a keyed hash of your IP address, not the address itself, and are deleted automatically within a day.

Essential security cookies work independently of optional analytics. A local theme preference remembers light or dark mode. No advertising or third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

Optional first-party analytics

Analytics is off until you allow it. A random browser identifier is kept in a first-party cookie for up to 30 days; your allow/decline choice is remembered for 180 days. We store page paths without query strings, event times, visit activity, referrer host names and broad browser/device categories. No IP address, full user agent or account identifier is stored in analytics. Signed-in users, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are excluded.

A page load counts once; a visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. A visible page can refresh its activity once per minute. Administrators see aggregate traffic and recent anonymous page activity. Records are removed after 90 days by daily cleanup on analytics activity or dashboard access. Changing to Decline removes the records associated with your current browser identifier and deletes its cookie.

Current choice: Not set (optional analytics is off).

Launch-interest registrations

When you join the launch list, we save your first name, last name, normalized email, registration time, subscription status and the privacy notice version with your explicit consent. This does not create an account or verify email ownership. Automated confirmation and notification emails are not connected. Duplicate submissions preserve the existing registration and consent choice.

Authorized administrators can review registrations, record an unsubscribe or delete a record. Closing the form does not delete records. Launch registrations are retained until you withdraw or request deletion; use the contact form for either request. Existing account update preferences remain separate.

Downloads

We count how many times each installer is downloaded per day. These counts aren't linked to you or your IP address.

Server logs

Like most websites, the server records technical logs of requests, such as the time, page requested and response status, to keep the service running and investigate problems. Logs never contain passwords or session identifiers.

Who can see your information

Only authorised VRIOSCU administrators can view account, feedback and support records, and every administrative export is logged. We don't sell your information.

Your choices

  • Change your profile and product-update choice in your account.
  • Download a copy of the data the website holds about you from Your data.
  • Delete your account, along with its feedback and linked support messages, from your account settings.

Retention

Account information is kept until you delete your account. Expired sessions are removed automatically. Support messages sent without an account are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and keep a reasonable support history.

Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form and choose "Privacy or data request".
